The Legendary Burrandowan Picnic Races is unique among picnic races – located only a few hours from Brisbane and the coast, yet located a million miles from the worries of the world. Set among tall eucalypts 60km west of Kingaroy, the race day started in 1922 when soldier settlers wanted to gather together, and the tradition continues to this day.
Sometimes it s a hard decision between Black & White or Colour. This shot was an opportunistic shot of a work colleague at a local outing so the framing is a little out. The colour shot is basically unprocessed except for a little vibrancy and grain added using Camera RAW. The Black & White is the Colour converted and a white vignette added using Photoshop. All comments, criticism and tips for improvements are welcome.
A graveyard of Mining Trucks on the edge of town from the local Meandu Coal Mine. Truck Automation trials began last year at the mine in partnership with Hitachi Japan which will probably see more disposal of these old assets.
Found a graveyard of Mining Trucks on the edge of town from the local Meandu Coal Mine. They are in the process of being stripped which makes for some interesting grungy industrial photos in Black and White. Watch this space for more to come…….
An additional test with lighting. Single strobe reflected from white umbrella. Post processed in Photoshop with a 40% matt applied.
Macro photography, is extreme close-up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size (though macrophotography technically refers to the art of making very large photographs). By some definitions, a macro photograph is one in which the size of the subject on the negative or image sensor is life size or greater. However, in other uses it refers to a finished photograph of a subject at greater than life size.
