BeforeTheRaceThe Legendary Burrandowan Picnic Races is unique among picnic races – located only a few hours from Brisbane and the coast, yet located a million miles from the worries of the world. Set among tall eucalypts 60km west of Kingaroy, the race day started in 1922 when soldier settlers wanted to gather together, and the tradition continues to this day.

SamPortraitDoubleSometimes it s a hard decision between Black & White or Colour. This shot was an opportunistic shot of a work colleague at a local outing so the framing is a little out. The colour shot is basically unprocessed except for a little vibrancy and grain added using Camera RAW. The Black & White is the Colour converted and a white vignette added using Photoshop. All comments, criticism and tips for improvements are welcome.

BugMacro photography, is extreme close-up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size (though macrophotography technically refers to the art of making very large photographs). By some definitions, a macro photograph is one in which the size of the subject on the negative or image sensor is life size or greater. However, in other uses it refers to a finished photograph of a subject at greater than life size.
